.Forecast discussion: major features/winds/seas/significant
.Weather for the North Pacific N of 30n and E of 150w.
Do not anticipate any major changes to this update. Gales will
commence sometime late tomorrow and continue through the end of
the forecast period for parts of the pz06 waters. Will go ahead
and append gales to nrn pz06 waters for later this week.
Cold front currently approaching the pz5 and nrn pz6 waters will
cross the offshore waters late tonight and Mon. Still expect
winds up to 30 kt in the srly flow ahead of the front across the
offshore waters. High pres will then build W of the pz6 waters
while a low pres trof forms near the srn California coast. Gales
are still expected to develop across portions of the central and
srn California offshore waters by Tue night and then continue
into Fri with winds up to 40 kt. Gales may also extend N into
the nrn California offshore waters by late Thu but for now will
hold the winds at 30 kt across this area and see what the later
model runs show. Current warnings look reasonable and no changes
should be needed on the next forecast.
The nww3 guidance looks reasonable and will be followed fairly
closely during the forecast period.
