At 620 am an area of showers and very isolated thunderstorms was moving to the east across Otero County and northern Hudspeth County in the vicinity of McGregor range....orgrande...and Alamogordo. This activity will produce light to moderate rain...wind gusts to 30 mph and a few cloud to ground lightning strikes.

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am to 10 PM MDT Wednesday for strong winds and low humidity for fire weather zones 112 and 113...
* affected area: south-central New Mexico including fire weather zones 112 and 113.
* Timing: Wednesday from 11 am to 10 PM MDT.
* Wind: west-southwest winds 25 to 35 mph at the 20-foot level with gusts to 45 mph.
* Humidity: minimum rh 4 to 8 percent area-wide.
* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
